Last year I received more than a few requests from my lovely readers for posting more kid loving recipes and I was happy to oblige. So, I asked my friend’s kids what they love to eat the most. What I figured from their answers was that they would enjoy anything that is small, easy to hold, can be dipped and popped into their mouths. The very first thing that came to mind was cake pops. Don’t we all love cake pops? I am not sure why it took me so long to post this, but I am glad I am finally doing this. Cake pops are the cutest bite sized treats with big on taste. Not only are they fun to eat, they are fun to make as well and a great way to use up leftover cake.

Fruit Flan: My 3rd Blogiversary!
The recipe I am sharing with you today is not like a Spanish or Mexican flan which is normally made with whole eggs and milk custard with a caramel coating. This is basically a plain cake soaked in orange syrup. Filled with whipped cream and fresh fruit and berries, nothing beats this stunner flan for the dessert table! This has been my ‘go to’ summer dessert to bring to parties. Hope you will enjoy the recipe as much as we do!
Caramelized Onion & Herbed Ricotta Tart w/ Rice Crust
I am a huge fan of leftovers- Rice in particular. Aside from using it in fried rice, casserole, salad or pudding, I enjoy making a rice crust for savory tarts. It is quite healthful, delicious and easy to make than butter pastry crust. Here I have for you a simple and flavorful multigrain rice crusted tart filled with caramelized onion and ricotta cheese.
Butternut Squash Halwa
Halwa is a pure pleasure. It is an aromatic sweet pudding typically served as a dessert, with coffee or tea after a meal, or as a snack. It can be prepared from flour, fruit, vegetable, lentil or nuts. This halwa calls for few pantry staples: Butternut squash, sugar, oil, cardamom and of course a few goji berries for color contrast, but raisins would be equally fine.
Strawberry And Chocolate Chip Scones
These strawberry and chocolate chip scones are a lovely and decadent breakfast or brunch item (or tea-time snack).
