Since it’s the season for holiday get togethers I thought some of you might need a starter or appetizer ideas to get your party started. I’ve included few of my favorites that would suit all kinds of palates. To get the recipes, click on the title of the appetizer or on the picture. It will take you to the desired recipe.
Cabbage and sprouted mung bean fritters
Crisp on the edges with tender centers these cabbage fritters make for an excellent appetizer or side dish. Best served fresh out of the pan, this recipe is a great way to use up a leftover head of cabbage. These fritters can be made ahead of time, keep well in the fridge and freeze well too.
They are easy to make and goes well with a hot cup of tea or chilled drinks. Roasted in a skillet and tossed with chopped onion, green chill and cilantro, these peanuts are addictive.
Flavored with smoked paprika and garam masala, this paneer filled savory sweet potato roulade will quickly become a favorite. Hot or cold this is a delicious healthy recipe for a party appetizer or as side dish.
Cast Iron Grilled Tandoori Paneer Kebabs
Food on skewers is always a hit at holiday parties. These tandoori kebabs are my all time favorite for entertaining. Chunks of paneer and vegetables are marinated in tandoori mixture, and then threaded on skewers and cooked in cast iron pan. These kebabs not only taste delicious but they look great too! If you don’t include the marinating time, these are ready in just 15 minutes!
Garlic and Brown Sugar Cheese ball
This recipe is an absolute must at any holiday party. Its one of the easiest to serve with crackers and you’ll enjoy sweet and savory sensations all at once.
If some of your friends like spicy food these pan cooked shrimps with harissa paste are just perfect. They are easy to make and so good.
Everyone loves a creamy dip and if you and your friends like garlic this is a must have for parties. This middle eastern condiment has lots of garlic, lemon juice, and oil. It is egg free, nut free, vegan and vegetarian. Can be served with chicken, seafood or veggies.
If you are a vegan or looking for a vegan appetizer for a guest these patties this will be right up your alley. Healthy & flavorful ingredients all packed into a delicious patty. I love this recipe because it is full of amazing flavors, but also because it caters to people who follow gluten free, dairy free, egg free, vegan and vegetarian diets.
Baked ricotta with hot cherry peppers
This creamy baked ricotta, topped with roasted sweet red peppers is great served with crostini.
It is a super delicious recipe made by marinating cauliflower florets in tandoori marinade and then roasted in oven. You can prepare and marinate the florets several hours or a night before. Roast one hour before the guests arrive. Reheat again in a hot oven to keep them firm and crisp at the time of serving.
Crispy Bread Tarts with Beans and Salsa
Toasted bread is all you need to make these crispy little cups, to fill with your desired filling.
If a cheese platter is one of the item you are serving for entertaining you must include these gluten free walnut and oat thins. These crackers offer a mild sweetness and soft crunch.
